Veranda Adkins is not only a successful entrepreneur
but also an influential speaker, business coach, and
podcast host. She draws on her unique blend of
inspiration and business acumen to empower aspiring
business owners, with a particular focus on supporting
Black women.
Veranda transforms her extensive entrepreneurial
experience into practical strategies, serving as a
catalyst for personal and professional growth. Through
her guidance, individuals can unlock their true
potential and achieve lasting success in their ventures.
In 2014, Veranda made a bold move, leaving behind
corporate America to begin a journey that has since
defined her unwavering path to success. This pivotal
decision led to the creation of Travel Legacy; a travel
agency renowned for curating exceptional travel
experiences. Managing a team of 14 independent
contractors and two assistants across the United States, she not only oversees day-to-day operations
but also shares her wealth of expertise to foster growth within the industry.
Adding to her entrepreneurial portfolio, Veranda has successfully launched several other travel and
entertainment businesses. This diverse range of enterprises highlights Veranda’s versatility and continued
impact within the industry. Recognizing a lack of diversity in the travel industry, Veranda co-founded the
Association of Black Travel Professionals (ABTP) in 2020. ABTP is now the largest organization in the United
States dedicated to training Black travel professionals and partners with some of the industry’s leading
suppliers.
With a 22-year career in travel, Veranda has visited over 40 countries, hosting and connecting with people
worldwide. Her dedication to excellence has garnered awards like Hard Rock Showstoppers, Palace Resorts
Pro, Funjet 500, and the prestigious Elite Status with Apple Leisure Group in 2022—an honor bestowed upon
only 225 travel agents in the country. Veranda earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida
and completed an MBA at the Keller Graduate School of Management.
Crafting a fulfilling life that grants her the freedom to enjoy quality time with her family and explore the
world, Veranda firmly believes that choosing entrepreneurship was her best decision—a journey
symbolizing resilience, representation, and success within the Black community.
